Custom domains
A paid guideline can live on your own domain, with automatic SSL and a verification step that tells you exactly what to do.
What you need
A domain or subdomain you control, and access to its DNS settings. A subdomain like brand.yourstudio.com is the common choice, but an apex domain works too.
Attaching a domain
- Buy a publish credit and publish the guideline.
- Open the publish panel and enter your domain.
- Add the CNAME record we show you at your DNS provider. For a subdomain, point it at
cname.vessa.design. - Wait for verification. DNS can take a few minutes to a few hours to propagate.
SSL
Once the domain verifies, an SSL certificate is issued automatically. You do not manage certificates yourself, and there is nothing to renew.
Common snags
- An existing CNAME or A record on the same host will conflict. Remove the old record first.
- Some providers append your root domain automatically. Enter the host as your provider expects, not the full name twice.
- Verification pending for a long time usually means the record has not propagated yet. Give it time before changing anything.
The free tier stays on a vessa.design subdomain. Custom domains are a paid-publish feature.
