PIZZA AT THE TABLE, POOL AFTER

Pool Room Pizza runs on one idea: the pool table is the dining room. Nobody is waiting for a lane or a cue. You order, you eat, you break, and the next round shows up between shots.

The look borrows from old pizzeria signs and pool hall chalkboards, then strips them back. FatAlbertBT does the loud talking, AkzidenzGrotesk keeps the menus and signage plain. Carbon, Slate and Signal hold it together.

Typography

Fat Albert shouts the specials. Akzidenz keeps the menu, hours and house rules readable. Baystar adds the odd handwritten flourish.

FatAlbertBT. Soft vintage weight, like a 1970s pizza sign repainted clean.

AkzidenzGrotesk. Plain, upright, no nostalgia. Carries every line of real information.

Keep Fat Albert to a few words at a time: dish names, table numbers, the sign over the bar. Set it in Paper or Ash on Carbon. Akzidenz does everything longer than a headline, never below 13px on printed menus.

Baystar (Script Medium) is the tertiary face. Save it for small accents, like a single word on a specials board or a sticker on the box. A word or two at a time, and never for anything people need to read, like prices, hours or menu items.

Voice

We talk like the person behind the bar: quick, warm, never precious about pizza or pool.

Rack 'em. Order at the bar. Chalk is free.

House rules, not rules

Instructions sound like a sign taped above the table, not policy. Short, a little bossy, always friendly. We tell people how it works and get out of the way.

Since whenever. Open till late.

Vintage without the costume

We borrow the cadence of old pizzeria signage and pool hall slang, then say it plainly. FatAlbertBT carries the nostalgia, so the words don't have to.

Margherita in one hand, cue in the other.

Pizza and pool, equal billing

Neither is the sidekick. Menu copy and table copy sit at the same volume, and we often put them in the same sentence.

We've seen worse breaks. Probably.

Dry, not jokey

The humour comes from understatement and timing. We land one dry line and stop. No puns stacked on puns, no winking at the reader.

Table booking

Table's yours for an hour. Running late, give us a call.

Don't

Reserve your premium billiards experience at your earliest convenience.

Menu copy

Pepperoni, hot honey, a lot of it.

Don't

A bold, artisanal, hand-crafted celebration of classic flavours.
